The Best Baby and Toddler Products of 2011

You and your family can start 2011 off right with some of the best and coolest children's related products that are currently on the market. They're useful, adorable, and you'll wish you knew about them sooner.
Shop in style with one of Zooper's high end strollers. Every parent needs a stroller and the more functional it is, the better the product. Zooper's strollers are sturdy, high quality and fashionable. The Waltz stroller is very compact, comes in a variety of really great colors and has the best additional features and accessories I've seen in a stroller. My favorite is the leg muff that covers the child's complete lower half in cold weather. It snaps on to the stroller itself so you don't have to worry about a blanket blowing off or becoming un-tucked from the child's legs. It's heavy and warm. There's also an additional weather shield that can completely cover the child in bad weather while allowing air to flow through. Storage space is available underneath the stroller, there are two different bars you can use in the front of the stroller (One snack tray and one regular) and its compatable with most infant carrier seats. You can add on to the Zooper stroller or most other strollers with a product called the Buggy Board. This board fastens on near the bottom of the stroller and creates a platform that an older child can hop on to and hold on the stroller handles while Mom or Dad are pushing. This eliminates the need for a bulky two person stroller when one of them is older and only needs to hop on for a rest here and there. There's still plenty of room for the parent to push the stroller from behind and you can leave the product on while closing up and transporting the stroller.

One of the best products I've seen for babies lately is the Nap Nanny infant recliner. It's a large foam positioner that comes with a gorgeous fabric cover on it. Babies can be harnessed in around their waist and the positioner is contoured to cradle their bodies while they relax or sleep. No more laying your baby in the Boppy - this product is fantastic and safe as long as you are using it at the right age. You could use this product in any room of your house and is well worth the money.

When you're decorating a beautiful nursery for your baby the last thing you want to worry about is where to put those stinky diapers. Luckily there's some great diaper pails on the market these days that can contain the smell and keep things smelling fresh. Whether you're cloth diapering or using disposables you'll want to use one of these and my advice is if you're using both cloth and regular diapers, you might want to stash two pails in the room. The Cosco diaper pail is one of the most affordable on the market and is great because you can use it with regular plastic bags you get from the grocery store. The tight lid keeps the smell very well contained and it's a small unit. Perfect for those disposables. The Munchkin diaper pail with Arm and Hammer technology is another great unit with a tight fitting lid and separate door for easy bag removal. I like this unit for cloth diapers because of its size and how contained the diapers are. The price is also very affordable so these are definitely two of the best pail's I've seen on the market. You can also help the air quality in the nursery by purchasing a Crane humidifier system. Tons of different animals and characters are available, there are various settings for air flow and it's a great unit. Its also extremely quiet and affordable.

Tea Collection clothing for kid's is absolutely adorable. The patterns and designs for some of these outfits are wonderful and one of a kind. The quality of the fabrics is great and they wash perfectly. Prices are very reasonable and these clothes will get your money's worth for sure. Sizes fit kids from newborn all the way to age 12. These clothes are classy and comfortable. You can add on a Myself Belt to the wardrobe and teach your little one how to fasten their own belt easily. Help keep those pants up, but when its time to go potty, you won't have to rush to help your toddler get ready.

One of the cutest lovies out there is the Cuski sleep aid. The soft comforting toy comes is a variety of colors, is very washable and will help babies and young children feel comfortable and happy in their own crib or bed. You won't mind traveling around with these and they're affordable so you can easily have a backup if one gets misplaced or needs to be washed. The Cuski absorbs scents that your baby will find comforting (Like Mom and Dad's scents). Mom and Dad can sleep with it on the first night, and from then on your baby will love it on their own in their own room.

Stock up on some Twooth Timer products like the variety kit that will teach your child the importance of brushing their teeth daily and in the proper way. An included timer will teach your child how long they should brush and a chart helps track their daily brushing to make sure it becomes part of their daily routine. While staying in the category of health items, every mom should have a MediBuddy first aid kit (Or three). These compact kits can be kept in the car, in your purse, in the bathroom, kitchen and so on. They contain all the little things you need like band aids, ointment, alcohol pads and even stickers to cheer up your little ones after they get a boo boo. The MediBuddy is created in the U.S.A. and is recycled, lead free and is made by Me4Kidz.

If you want to keep skincare and beauty products safe and healthy try Piggy Paint nail polish. It's free of formaldehyde, toluene, BPA, acetone and more. It actually stays on just as long as your typical paint (Many safer polishes on the market don't last long) and comes off pretty easily. It dries quick as well, especially with a quick dry from your blow dryer. Use Aleva Naturals for healthy skincare. Aside from your typical body washes and lotions you can also get organic chest rubs, nursing balm, wipes and more.

One of the most useful products I've seen on the market these days is the Bell Blocker. This contraption fits over your doorbell and has a little cover that lowers down over the bell. When your baby is napping and you don't want to be disturbed, simply lower the cover down and it will read 'Please Knock Thank You." When naptime is over, simply raise the cover and you're good to go. This is great for people soliciting door to door, neighbors and delivery companies. The Bell Blocker comes in cream and white and comes with the fasteners needed to attach to your door frame.

The Inglesina high chair is the best chair on the market in my opinion. This unit attaches to the table with two arms that are part of the high chair. Its incredibly sturdy and durable and you can take it on the go if you need to. The material its made of is easily wiped off and it helps keep your child up close to the table where they need to be. Its great for meal time as well as coloring and arts and crafts at the kitchen table. Also you don't need to waste one of your kitchen chairs and you won't have to make floor space for a large high chair unit.

If you're on the go a lot you know it can be tough when you're trying to potty train your child but still want to get out and get things done. The My Carry Potty is lightweight and carries in itself, you don't need an additional bag to tote it around in. When the child needs to use the bathroom but one isn't around, simply open up the potty and when your child is done you can close it up and clean it when you arrive home. The potty seals shut very tight and you won't have any leaky situations. There are no other products on the market that make potty training so easy. You can even let your child walk around the house with this product. If you allow it to be theirs, then they are more apt to stop, sit down and use the potty.

Bathing your tiny infant can be a challenge when trying to find a product that will support the baby enough that you can have a free hand to do the washing while making sure baby is comfortable. I like the Summer Newborn to Toddler Fold Away bath tub. This product has a padded liner that dries easily with a drain plug inside. You can use this item over your sink or inside your bath tub. Older toddlers can sit inside the tub with minimal water for ensured safety and infants can be bathed in a dry tub with just a little bit of water nearby. The best part about it is storage. The entire unit easily folds in half and can be kept under your sink or in a closet. 4Moms makes a Cleanwater Infant Tub that is a really great concept. There's a built in thermometer to make sure the water is the correct temperature, and the way the tub is designed, clean water flows in through the top and filters dirty water out of the tub away from baby. It fits nicely on your kitchen sink area and will wipe out dry- no fabric is involved.

For babies who love to be swaddled but tend to kick or break out of the wrap you can try the Woombie swaddle blanket. This fitted sleep sack type product keeps baby snug with arms and legs inside. A variety of colors and styles are available and they work great. They hold up in washing machine and a variety of other products are available from Woombie that will make sleeping an easier part of the routine like the Mo'Mo Blankie that attaches a pacifier to a lovie blanket. Cover your child's mattress in a 100% organic cotton sheet from Natural Mat for even more comfort. Matress protectors are also available and all are handmade from soft flannelette and cotton percale. They are machine washable, won't shrink and can be dried. You can pick up organic cotton pillows for your toddler from the Royal-Pedic Mattress Company. I was surprised at how nice these pillows were. They're very heavy, comfortable pillows and hold their shape far better than a typical pillow.
