Glutino- Product Review

I started eating gluten free a little over one year ago. I did it basically because of some health issues I was having. I have some chronic health conditions that I deal with but I was also experiencing bloating, stomach discomfort, shortness of breath after eating, fatigue and more. I had been reading a lot about people talking about going gluten free and how much better they felt afterwards. I didn't have much hope that going gluten free would do much for me as I didn't see any reason I would have a gluten sensitivity but I decided to take the plunge anyway. I figured I would give it a few weeks and see if I felt any better. Literally, after just one week of not eating gluten I felt a lot different. It was a few months later that I realized how much better I was feeling and that my digestive system seemed to be healing itself. While I do consume gluten sometimes I do not eat it for the most part. I never eat traditional pasta, pizza, bread, etc. I sure do miss that nice loaf of crusty bread with a nice dinner but I know that feeling so much better is worth it. Over the past year or so I have experimented with a number of different gluten free products to try and find the best items that appeal to my palette. I have been fortunate enough to sample a lot of brands' products and one of my favorites is Glutino.

Glutino makes a really affordable and wide range of products for the gluten free population. The best part is that they sell a lot of Glutino products at my local Wegmans grocery store where I shop. I like that they create a lot of gluten free products that are similar to my favorites that I miss. Some of my favorite Glutino products include:

Lemon Wafers
These are to die for. I have not seen them in my local grocery store but I would consider ordering these or shopping around for them. I used to eat these cookie like wafers when I was a kid and I sure do miss them. The lemon flavor makes these appealing for adults and they are very refreshing after a big meal. My husband, who does not eat gluten free, loves these as well and I've had to grab them from him before they all get eaten without me!

Pretzels
You'll find all kinds of pretzel varieties from Glutino and I love their consistency. I actually like them better than traditional gluten pretzels. They have this great crunch to them and you can eat them plain, dip them in a spread of some sort or my favorite, scoop up some peanut butter with them!

Bagel Chips
This is a product I really miss. I love pretzel chips with some sort of cheese spread and now I can enjoy this snack again.

Toaster Pastries
As a gluten free alternative to those old school Pop Tarts, you can enjoy a much healthier and safer version from Glutino. There are a variety of flavors available and they are all really tasty. I always worry about GF pastries being crumbly and what not but this dough is really tasty and well made.

Citra Solv-Product Review

I love a clean home. I like when my house is sanitized, organized, healthy and smells good. I don't, however, like to use chemical based cleaning products in the home. I stopped using them about 7 years ago or so when my son was born and I was curious and concerned about the smell of the products we were using in our bathroom and kitchen and such. Since then I have found so many great cleaning products that are natural and safe to use all over the home. Citra Solv is a brand that has a ton of great cleaning products that are safe to use all over the home. The only thing you will smell is the safe smell of citrus, essential oils, etc.

I got to try out the Citra Solv Concentrate Valencia Orange cleaner. This product can be diluted in a spray bottle or used how you wish. I like this because I have a spray bottle I keep handy as an all purpose cleaner. I will often make my own concoction with vinegar, essential oils and such but this is going to be a great product to keep on hand to make a cleaner with and it will likely last a long time since just a few drops does the trick.

The Home Solv Natural Dish Soap in Lavender Bergamot smells amazing! I love this combination and I have been using it in the kitchen for a few days now. It leaves everything smelling great and everything is sparkly clean. Not to mention it works really well on baked on messes.

The Home Solv Free and Clear Natural Laundry Detergent takes messes and stains out of clothes and I like that it is free of dyes and perfumes because this is the type of product I typically use in our home to wash our clothes. I often make our own detergent but this one will be much more convenient and it is very effective even on those little boy stains that seem to creep up on all my son's clothing items!

You can find more information on the Citra Solv website: www.citrasolv.com. These products can also be found in a number of retail stores and online.

Solgar- Product Review

Solgar is a nutritional supplement company that has been around since 1947. The ongoing mission of this company is to provide their customers with some of the best quality and innovative products on the market in order to help people improve their overall health and well being. The choices from Solgar and endless and I was lucky enough to receive some samples to try out for review purposes.

Whey To Go Protein Powder
My husband makes himself a smoothie every morning before he leaves for work. That's his breakfast and it gives him the energy he needs to get through the morning. In addition to his fruits and veggies he adds to his smoothie he also likes to use a natural protein powder of some sort to give him that extra boost he needs in the gym that afternoon. Solgar's Whey To Go Protein Powder is great because it is free of all the nasty ingredients that a lot of other protein powders have like artificial sweeteners, synthetic ingredients and so on. Solgar's protein is high quality and very healthy.

Calcium, Magnesium and Vitamin D3
Where we live everybody seems to have low levels of vitamin D no matter what you eat or consume. I recently found out that in order to properly raise your D levels you should supplement with magnesium as well as this is what the body needs to help process vitamin D in the body. This is a great supplement to take in the winter months but all year round as well.

U Cubes Children's Multivitamin
Those picky eaters in your life could use some nutritional support sometimes and Solgar's U Cubes are a great way to supplement. Each gummy has all the basic vitamins and nutrients needed to give your child energy to grow and play.

Kidecals- Product Review

Throughout the year there are so many times we need to label items in our household. My son has to put his name on all of his new school supplies in the fall and he loves to make sure that his new books have his name in them so they don't go walking away or get lost. It can be tedious to try and label all of these items but thanks to Kidecals this process has been made much simpler and my son can do it himself.

Kidecals are really high quality labels that can be purchased in a variety of different colors, shapes and sizes and then personalized with your child's name and his address or phone number if you wish. I love these labels because they aren't the thin, cheap labels you find from other label stores or address label companies. These labels are thick, durable and have a clear coating to them.

I loved the labels my son received from Kidecals but we also got some great address labels that we can use when we send out cards and other mailings. There are a ton of options to choose from and again the quality is impressive. We opted for a circular design that has our last initial in the center and then our address information circles around the outside of the sticker. I'm looking forward to using them.
