How to Promote Reading Through Amulet Books Fall Releases

Readingis very important in my household. My son has loved to be read to since he was a baby and I am pretty sure that we have more children's books than the local library. I never mind trying to find places for the new books we acquire because I feel like it's been a big contributing factor to my son speaking early and being so smart. Readingto children at a young age is important but it's also a great idea to promote that learning at a teenage level as well. Amulet Books, an imprint of Abrams, offers some great reading material for the tween and teen age group.

In Deviant, by Adrian McKinty, the main character is Danny Lopez. Lopez has been enrolled for a school for troubled children but the tricky part is that the whole school is scripted. The teachers speak according to their script and so do the students, with no other speaking allowed. The students are left to be guinnea pigs for the culprit that is attempting to clean up the school's riff raff. This story will keep kids wanted to read more to find out exactly what happens.

The Phantom Limb, by William Sleator and Ann Monticone, features Isaac, a middle school student who discovers a magic mirror box that contains a hidden living phantom limb. The limb warns Isaac about the future murder of his mothers. The limb and Isaac collaborate to save his mother in this unique and suspensful novel. Teens who love horror and adventure stories will love this book.

Peter Nimble And His Fantastic Eyes, by Jonathan Auxier, is the first book by this author. Peter Nimble is a heart warming character who is a blind ten year old orphan. He still manages to save an entire kingdom by solving riddles, fighting ravens and serpents. This fast paced book is a great fantasy book for boy and girls over the age of ten.

These novels from Amulet Books retail for about $16.95 a piece and can be found in stores in the fall of 2011. Your kids will love these exciting and interesting stories. Not only that, but they might just fall in love with reading as well.
