A Buffalo winter seems like it lasts forever especially if you have children. Once the holidays are over everyone is starting to feel the effects of cabin fever and lack of sunshine and we're counting the days until spring is here. Luckily, a new facility has opened up in Hamburg that will provide the whole family with hours of entertainment for not much money.
The Just Fun Family Entertainment Center , located at 6000 South Park Avenue (Inside the old Ames building) just celebrated their grand opening a few months ago and already their popularity is soaring. No admission price is charged and you simply pay for what you want to do. There are activities for 3 year olds as well as 13 year olds. Even adults will have fun at Just Fun.
The soft playground in the middle of the facility is a three level tensioned web flooring system with 14 different activities including a large slide. The material is actually similar to seat belts and they are woven to make this unique and soft play area for kids of all ages. The price is only $5 per child and a parent can accompany their child inside for only $1. The entire play area is enclosed so it's extremely safe and maybe even more fun than a regular plastic outdoor playground!
Battle Ball and Bazooka ball are featured inside the Battle Arena. $6.50 per game provides intense fun similar to paintball but without the mess. This game involves low impact foam balls instead of hard ones. This entire arena is completely separate from the other play areas which is nice because you don't have to worry about the little ones getting hurt.
Spin Zone Bumper Cars are a ton of fun. These hovercraft type of vehicles can travel around the enclosed floor and when you get hit in a certain spot your car spins around! You can make yourself spin faster and move anywhere you want. The person controlling the ride can also send all the cars into spinning motion to change up the game a little bit! Each child has to be at least 36" to ride the Bumper Cars and it's only $3 per person per ride. It lasts about 3-4 minutes.
Older kids and adults can enjoy a game of Aeroball together. Think basketball combined with a trampoline and each player being enclosed in their own compartment. The goal is to get the ball into the other player's area in order to score points. You can do this however you want, but you must stay in your area and keep in mind you're on a trampoline!
You can also enjoy the arcade games available and trade your tickets in for one of the prizes at the counter. There are regular arcade games and you can also play ski ball, air hockey, shoot hoops or get your family photo sketched. This area is great because it has games for all ages and everyone can have fun. Each game pays out a good amount of tickets as well, as prizes are very reasonably calculated. A few dollars can provide a lot of fun.
You can reserve a room for a birthday party as well. There are different packages available that provides your child and their friends with 1 ½ hours for food and cake in their own birthday room, tokens, ride passes and much more.
The Just Fun facility is extremely clean or well organized. It's a great way to pass some time on a cold and boring afternoon or evening. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday 3-9 P.M., Friday 3-11 P.M., Saturday 11-11 P.M. and Sunday 11-9 P.M.
