Joining The Hive: A Review Of Burt's Bees Organic Products

A company that started out making all natural, organic lip balm made of beeswax has now become one of the most well known, most attainable organic product lines available right now. Burt's Bees is known for a large line of products for not only adults, but now also for babies, where all of their products are non-toxic. You won't find man made chemical components or fillers in their products, only natural, plant derived elements that leave you feeling refreshed, clean, and healthy.

The majority of Burt's Bees products are 100% natural, with the exception of things like Vitamin E, which don't hold up in their natural state, so Vitamin E is reproduced in a more stable form and added to the product. It's much more natural than any other product you will find on the store shelves. In these cases, products are still often 99.9% natural. Natural coloring is even used from things such as beta-carotene, chlorophyll, and mica. Fragrance is rarely used, but when it is, it's very safe and phthalate free.

Burt's Bees has a large variety of products available such as cleansers, exfoliators, toners, moisturizers, shampoos, conditioners, body bars, sunscreen, hand soaps, hand and foot products, herbal deodorants, cosmetics, natural remedies such as a blemish stick, poison ivy soap, and insect repellent.

All of the products have very natural and tempting names that just make you feel like you're being pampered such as Garden Tomato Complexion Soap, Wild Lettuce Toner, Marshmallow Vanishing Cream, Carrot Seed Oil Complexion Mist, Green Tea and Lemongrass Hand Soap, Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream, and Rosemary Mint Shampoo Bar. The products even smell as good as they sound.
The Soap Bark and Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream is very smoothing and gentle. It washes away oils and makeup without leaving skin feeling dry or dull at all. Even for people with oily skin, it doesn't over moisturize; your skin will still feel very clean. It is recommended that you exfoliate once a week, or twice a week for those who have oilier skin. The Peach and Willow bark Deep Pore Scrub gives a gentle, yet effective exfoliation.

You will find it doesn't dry your skin like the majority of exfoliates, and your skin won't be peeling, or breaking out after you use this product, it only gently removes particles and dead skin cells from your face, leaving you feeling refreshed and clean. If you follow up your cleansing and exfoliating routine with the Royal Jelly Day Radiance Cream, you will find your skin feels younger, has more elasticity, and looks absolutely radiant.

If you're a female, you know how difficult it is to keep your hair shiny, healthy, and manageable. I've always had hair that by the end of the day tends to be a little oily, so I was used to buying products for oily hair, or skipping the conditioner or additional moisturizing products. I was a bit skeptical about using Burt's Bees hair products, because they are made with organic essential oils and to me that just screamed oily hair. I had read however, that when you begin using an organic shampoo you may find your hair needs an adjustment period for getting used to all of the essential oils and natural ingredients.

I decided to attempt it, because the Rosemary Mint Shampoo bar smelled positively lovely, and I am a big fan of organic, chemical-free products. At first I found my hair did feel a little different. It seemed like there was more moisture to it (Not necessarily oily though). I decided to keep washing with it, and by the second week of using the shampoo bar, I noticed my hair actually ended up being LESS oily at the end of the day, and my hair seemed to be even throughout (No oily roots, but dry ends- my hair was very healthy all over). I've been using various Burt's Bees' shampoos since then.
I find that when I switch for a day and use one of my old shampoos, I notice a big difference in how my hair holds up that day. I would never switch back to chemical packed shampoos when Burt's Bees has shampoos like Super Shiny Grapefruit and Sugar Beet, Color Keeper Green Tea and Fennell Seed, More Moisture Raspberry and Brazil Nut and Very Volumizing Pomegranate and Soy Shampoo.

Even people with hectic lifestyles need to take some time out to pamper themselves once in awhile. Burt's Bees makes it easy with some unique products that aren't for everyday use, but are perfect for 5 minutes of treating yourself to something special. A really big favorite of mine is the Pore Refining Green Clay Mask. The mask actually comes as a dark green powder, with a little spoon inside of the box. You actually measure out a portion of the powder, mix it with water according to the directions, and apply.

It's probably the freshest mask you're going to get aside from spending all day at the spa, and it's delightful. It has a very minty scent to it and you can feel it tingle each and every pore on your face. You only have to leave it on for approximately 5-10 minutes, depending on your skin type, and how many times you've used the mask before. When you wash it off, your skin feels much tighter, and you'll notice a difference in pore size after you've used this product even just once.

A product that I never used before was a facial toner. I didn't really see the need, but I thought that the Burt's Bees Wild Lettuce Toner sounded so refreshing and simple that I wanted to try it. It's such a light toner that it dries within seconds of application and you don't feel any kind of residue or film on your skin after it dries. It's a must before putting on makeup as it keeps your skin from getting oily throughout the day and keeps your makeup from becoming shiny or runny.

Also, its nice to apply before bed after your regular skincare routine. You will wake up to fresher, healthier skin. The smell of the Wild Lettuce Toner, as well as the Garden Tomato Toner is so light and natural, you hardly even know it's on your skin. It's excellent for people who are sensitive to fragrances or facial products. Don't forget, all of these products are organic! Toner really does make a difference in the overall health of your skin. It keeps your skin tone healthy, and even.
A new addition to the Burt's Bees family is their line of baby products titled "Baby Bee." It's absolutely important for us to care for ourselves inside and out, and organic products are the gateway to that journey. We can't forget the next generation and exclude them! The Baby Bee line is wonderful, with gentle tear free products such as Baby Bee Shampoo and Wash made with coconut and sunflower oils, Apricot Baby Oil, Buttermilk Soap and Lotion, Diaper Ointment made with vitamins A and E, and 100% talc free dusting powder made with cornstarch, buttermilk, and slippery elm bark. There are even products for the mom's to be such as the Belly Butter, Leg and Foot Cream, and Nourishing Body Oil with Vitamin E.

A great part of Burt's Bees' line is the starter packs. There is a Baby Bee starter pack, a foot starter pack, a hand starter pack, a general starter pack, among others. They make great gifts for someone who isn't familiar with Burt's Bees but you just can't wait to get them hooked! Each kit includes trial sized products for a very reasonable price. They come in cute little zippered bags, and I think they're the greatest thing.

As our world changes, it seems we are polluting not only the earth we live on, but also our own bodies. The food we eat and the products we are using are forcing us to ingest and absorb harmful chemicals into our bodies that we would never choose to expose ourselves to if they weren't hidden in our everyday products. Burt's Bees is such an excellent alternative to the products we use everyday that are harmful to us.

The greatest part about Burt's Bees is the affordability factor. Organic products tend to be quite pricey because of how they are created, and where they come from. Burt's Bees products really won't break your bank account, and you will feel better knowing that you are making the choice to keeping you, and your family healthy.
