It all started because of a master soap maker named Dr. Emanuel Bronner in the 1940's. His organic castile soaps (which means it is vegetable derived), and the message of peace that he carried along with them created what we now know as the line of organic soaps, body care products, and snacks that are part of the Bronner Family of Products. While Dr. Emanuel Bronner passed away in 1997, his spirit has remained alive through his products and through the company's tendencies to give back to worldwide causes.
I absolutely rave about these products. I first tried the organic oils liquid soap in Lavender and Peppermint and soon after fell in love with them. I use them as an all-in-one wash for hair and body and absolutely notice an enormous difference between these organic castile soaps and the average chemical-stocked products you will find at mass retailers all over our country. All of the products including these soaps are USDA National Organic Program certified, and focus is placed on organic agricultural processes as well as farm worker health and natural processing methods. The liquid soaps come in incredibly mild and lovely scents such as Bitter Almond, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Lavender, Peppermint, and it also comes in unscented. These scents are also available in bar soaps if you prefer that to the liquid soaps. Additional scents are available in the bars like Rose and Lemon. These soaps are so safe and gentle to use, even those who are extremely sensitive to fragrance or certain components in everyday soaps and lotions will have no problem using these products on a regular basis.
Branching off from Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps is a line of body products titled Dr. Bronner's and Sun Dog's Magic Body Care. Available is a line of lotions very lightly scented with lavender, patchouli, peppermint, and orange lavender that contain no artificial ingredients or preservatives. Tattoo and body balms are also available in similar scents, and come in small tins which are filled with a much thicker substance made of beeswax which you can use anywhere that needs a little extra moisture or skin protection. There are organic lip balms to match the scents of the lotions and balms, and it also comes in unscented.
Also sold as part of the Dr. Bronner line is Gertrude Spindler's Alpsnacks. Made from organic, vegan, and gluten free ingredients (they are rice-based), these snacks have been recreated from Spindler's Mother's recipe. They are made from Hemp Nuts, which are derived from the industrial hemp plant which is non-psychoactive cannabis which is grown for fiber and seed. They come in flavors such as Plums and Currents, Apricots and Cranberries, Coconut Mango and Pineapple, Dark Chocolate, and Espresso Chocolate. They have a very nutty and grainy taste and consistency to them and they're very tasty. They're so healthy you can't feel guilty about eating these snacks!
Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps, Sun Dog's Body Care and Alpsnacks are all available on the company's website: www.drbronner.com and at various retailers all over the United States. The quality of these products is really exceptional, and probably one of the best organic product lines I've become aware of. They include natural essential oils that smell wonderful and feel great on the skin, and it's a very noticeable difference from other products organic, and non-organic. Prices are quite reasonable. The liquid Magic Soap costs roughly $8.99 for a 16 oz. bottle and it lasts quite a long time- Just a few drops suds up enough to wash everything you need. Dr. Bronner's Soaps are definitely worth trying. You will be impressed by the quality of the soaps and how well they work.
